Celebrating the School Garden
Children at St. Mary’s School take pride of their school garden projects. The children are learning how to grow things in a safe and sustainable way, and how to run their own successful gardens. Furthermore, school gardens can make a real difference to children’s health. They learn to appreciate healthy foods and to change their own eating habits. They are taught how to grow, prepare and eat them.
Teachers use the garden as a learning resource for Maths, Science, Reading, Writing and The Arts.
